Room to Read
An homage to an exceptional initiative: the international NGO "Room to Read".
Founded by John Wood, the current President, this organisation – receiving plaudits from President Bill Clinton - grants access to education for thousands of children around the world. Around 3.5 million textbooks in local languages have already been distributed in 5000 libraries in six countries in Asia and South Africa. The aim is to reach 3.5 million copies in 10,000 libraries by 2010 in three continents.
In the event that any infrastructure does not allow for the storage of books and reading areas, the foundation also funds the construction of buildings or architectural structures.
